This is my idea of a perfect vacation day: still in my pajamas late morning, reading a good novel, and glimpsing up at the alps when it suits me. Others are out earnestly hiking about. Not me. In another world I was a cat sitting in my own square of sunshine. Purrrr.

I used to think I had to "seize the day" to really be living. I tried to see and do everything in something of a hurry. It's been twenty years since I learned that "carpere" means "to pluck" (as in picking a flower) rather than "to grab." I'm still working on implementing this less-violent translation, but it looks like you've got it figured out.
Carpe diem.
You have the best life. Cats have the best lives. That looks so pleasant.
Lovely Louise. I have always wanted to be a cat. So much peace and serenity about it.
What are you reading? I like your idea of a perfect vacation day. Hiking is not relaxing--too much balancing and whatnot. Sitting and observing God's good earth while in your pjs, it doesn't get better.
I hope that lazing around includes some moan-worthy smooth chocolate.
I used to hate my cat and curse her when she would be buried in the covers of my heated water bed when I was sloshing out of bed for seminary at 4:45.
What a heavenly picture. I love the green curtains.
Jealous.
